Taco de Vries, founder and managing director of Dolphyn Management & Consultancy

From sea to boardroom

Taco de Vries began his career as a deep sea officer. That foundation of practical knowledge, combined with a sharp eye for commercial opportunities and operational realities, forms the core of his approach as a consultant.

As Managing Director and Vice President of major port companies in Rotterdam, he learned that good decisions come from experience, not theory. That conviction is present in every assignment he takes on.

Dolphyn was founded on the belief that boards and directors sometimes need a conversation partner who knows what it is really like in the port: someone who does not just advise, but who has actually done it himself.
